Hi lovely friends!
Thought I’d surprise you with a bonus post this month with some extra photos and ponderings from our magical little hoodie photoshoot.
If you haven’t caught my post on Instagram, my shop will be opening at 10am AEST 4th July!
My partner Brendan graciously helped to model my Aquarium hoodies. He brings a lot more energetic poses than me, which matches my apparel so well!
As the shoot went on, I got less stressed out and we took some fun ones. It is so easy for perfectionism to sneak into every part of my creative process, including the parts that don’t involve painting. It sneaks in as body image issues for me at times, which can make photoshoots painful.
But the important thing for me has always been to give things a go. I’m lucky to have a partner who encourages me and hypes up my own work to me when I forget the joy.
I hope that you’re able to lean into those people who encourage you too. Count me as one of them.
I’ll also be doing a limited run of my sea creature pins. I have to do a small batch at a time because they take a LOT of time and energy to sculpt, paint, and resin.
It feels like I’ve hatched a bunch of little treasures every time from formless lumps of clay, so it’s well worth it.
I’m planning on keeping this online shop going for as long as I’m able so that people who can’t make it to markets have a chance to nab my art.
Here’s the Bosley bear notepad I designed, in a picnic basket with shells gifted by a friend. I took this shot in my backyard, but it feels beachy doesn’t it? I still want to go in and edit the lighting a bit more, but it’s a good start in my opinion. Using props that you already have lying around and combining them in creative ways help to sell the atmosphere more than you can expect!
My mailbox is always open to you if you want to chat art or have any shop questions.
In the meantime, I’ll see you in early July!
